Commitment and Consistency: Formula for Blogging Success

Since I first started blogging four years ago I have learned valuable lessons about what definitely works on blogs and what clearly doesn't. Want to hear the number one killer of blogs? You ready?

Inactivity. Not posting. Becoming a no-show.

Blogging -- as I'm sure you know -- is a fast-paced enterprise and readers are fickle. If you miss posting for a day or two, or maybe even a week, readers are forgiving. Any more than that and they may not come back for a week or even a month. Don't believe me? Try it and watch your stats plummet. I've been there and it's not pretty.

So! What's the moral of the story? Blog often and blog regularly. The commitment you show to your readers and to the success of your blog will easily translate into reader loyalty and increased visitors.

great tips. I will agree I lose interest in other blogs if they are inactive.

I love having post-dated blog posts. I plan for weekends away and such. I like posting every day! Great tips!
