Getting the Word Out About Your Mom Blog

Over the course of these tutorials, you have chosen a blog host, created a name, and decided the direction you would like your blog to take. Now it is time to get it out there and share your blog with others.

Gaining a slew of readers is, without a doubt, no easy task. In fact, doing so requires hard work, tenacity and thick skin. In the beginning you will find you probably only have a small trickle of loyal readers, but as you blog more often you will find yourself actually making friends in the blogosphere, watching your blog stats rise and communicating with people all around the world who are not only interested in what you have to say, but who also share your thoughts and opinions about everything from parenting to politics. These are the people you will need to find and introduce yourself to.

It may sound a little intimidating at first but be sure to comment on blogs that you enjoy reading and that you can draw a little inspiration from. Bloggers love to know that something they have written has touched a reader or has challenged someone to think about an issue in a totally different and unique way. Introduce your blog to bloggers you admire by commenting on their posts or by dropping them a personal email. A blogger from London did just that to me this week and now we will be exchanging blog links. That is how your circle of blog friends gets started and your readership grows.

If you put detailed thought, new ideas, and a creative slant to your blog, other bloggers will quickly spread the word about it. This is not only flattering, but remains a fantastic way of attracting blog readers quickly. In all, be sure to take your time when building your blog. You want to make it as interesting as possible to attract readers and potential accolades.

If you want to start blogging, this five part tutorial will help any blog novice. I have been blogging for about three years and it has been a lot of fun and I have met a slew of fantastic people. If you have been teetering back and forth over whether you want to start your own mom blog, give it a try. Chances are you will like it.

Not only is your advise about getting readers to your blog good for "mom" blogs but for blogs in general. I find a great way to find new blogs on blogger/blogspot is just to hit "next blog" at the top of the screen. I have found many interesting blogs that way.

thanx a ton for the tutorials to us novices. I am a mom(and more)blogger who has just started out, and I find it easier to write about books and other things than about my children....can u please suggest what niche I should stick to?

These are fantabulous ideas! My blog evolved out of being a regular newsletter sent to friends. After I found that a lot of my emails were being forwarded, I decided to open up my blog to the general public...I have been met with FANTASTIC and favorable responses. However, I have to be careful to make sure that I don't "play" to the reader. I just make sure that I remain true. It has worked so far - Nards
